Community Privacy Information
In the Smoxy Community, you can connect with other users and share your progress. To ensure full transparency, this page explains how your data is processed and what becomes visible when you use the Community feature.

The community is an optional feature. You can use Smoxy without participating in the community.
1. What Is the Smoxy Community?
The Smoxy Community is an optional part of the app where you can interact with other users, support each other, and share your progress. To participate, you create a separate community profile. This profile can be visible to others and can be accessed through a link.
2. Public Community Profile
When you activate the community feature, a public profile is created for you. You decide which information is displayed within the available settings.
- Your community profile is only active after you explicitly opt in.
- Depending on your settings, visible information may include your name or nickname, profile picture, quit-smoking statistics (e.g. smoke-free days, money saved), and other information you choose to share.
- Your community profile can be accessed through a personal link. Anyone who has this link or who finds you in the community can view your profile.
- You may deactivate or delete your community profile at any time from within the app.
3. Posts and Content in the Community
In the community, you can create posts, comment on others, react, and share content.
- Content you create (posts, comments, reactions) is visible to other community users.
- Please do not share highly sensitive personal information about yourself or others (such as detailed health data, real names of third parties, or contact information).
- When you delete your posts or comments, they are no longer visible in the community. For technical or legal reasons, temporary backups may continue to exist.
- We reserve the right to remove content that violates our community guidelines or harms other users.
4. Legal Basis for Data Processing
Participation in the community is voluntary and only active after you provide explicit consent.
- The legal basis for processing your community data (public profile, posts, comments) is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
- You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by deactivating or deleting your community profile.
- Your use of the main Smoxy app remains unaffected by this withdrawal.
5. Visibility and Risks
A public profile and publicly visible content come with certain risks, which we want to make fully transparent.
- Other users can view, save (e.g., via screenshots), and share your community content outside the app.
- Anyone who has your profile link can view your public community profile.
- We cannot prevent others from redistributing content you have shared in the community.
- Only share information you are comfortable making visible to others.
6. Your Rights and Controls
You maintain control over your data within the community.
- You may deactivate or delete your community profile at any time.
- You may delete posts and comments you created, where technically available.
- You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, and object according to the GDPR.
- You may contact our privacy compliance team at any time regarding your community data.
7. Contact
The controller for your personal data within the Smoxy Community is the same as for the main Smoxy app.
